You've been doing taekwondo since you were 5(?) and have a few black belts (#commitment). What is your favorite move? Is there a move you are trying to learn or would like to learn?
I started Taekwondo when I was 6 years old with my dad. My favorite move, or kick, would have to be the 360 round kick. The kick that I am trying to learn is a 540 triple side kick.
You rock climb. What is your favorite place that you've climbed? What place is on your bucket list?
My favorite place to go climb is Summersville, West Virginia. The place that is on my bucket list is Half Dome, Yosemite.
Where do you go for design inspiration?
To the internet! I have a lot of go to sites that I use for inspiration.
What made you want to get into design?
All through my elementary, middle, and high school career, art was a subject that came naturally to me. I enjoyed learning new skills in Adobe Photoshop Elements in middle school and high school in my free time. Typically I would avoid doing my other homework just to mess around in Photoshop. Once I went off to college, it felt only natural to take this passion to the next level.
What is your favorite project to-date (could be student work, or stuff done in your career or as a hobby)?
My favorite project would have to be my work on McClellan's Taekwondo. (Branding)
Do you have a "dream client" brand? Who?
My dream client would be REI. Their brand voice and aesthetic is amazing.
What do you secretly "nerd out" over/ what gets you jazzed?
Outdoor adventure gear...... Any time I enter a outdoor sports store and see cool tech I get lost in it. I could spend all day in an REI just walking around looking at everything.
Are you currently binge watching something? If so, what?
The show that I am currently binging is Avatar the Last Airbender. I typically binge-and-burn myself out on some late 90's early 2000's anime every 2 months.
Coffee, tea, or water?
Coffee......... if I could maintain a healthy life on black coffee alone I would.
If you were a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, which one would you be and why?
Probably somewhere between Michaelangelo and Donatello. I have a place in my heart for pizza and goofy skater antics, as well as have an interest in technology and science.
And lastly.... do we need to worry that you might move to Japan to take a job as a ninja?(circa this article: http://www.businessinsider.com/iga-japan-is-facing-a-ninja-shortage-2018-7)
Probably not, I couldn't give up my Jeni's ice cream.
