Katzinger’s Dublin [Project Spotlight]

Background:
The original Katzinger’s Delicatessen opened its doors in the historic Columbus, Ohio neighborhood of German Village in 1984. It’s a traditional New York-style deli in a funky brick building, which gives it a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that proves difficult to replicate.

Project:
Wall mounted menus for Katzinger’s Dublin. It was important to continue the quirky, unconventional atmosphere of the original location, while creating needed function and hierarchy to new wall mounted menus. These menus needed to keep the detailed sandwich descriptions, prices, and numbering systems of their sister location but include the ability to easily change content when necessary.

Results:
We were able to create a fun, dimensional piece of functional art that serves as a nod to the original deli. The menu boards are better categorized with a consistent and scannable hierarchy for customers placing a to-go order. The individual color panels are printed on a magnetic substrate, allowing for the easy removal and updating of menu items and prices.

“Our sandwiches are famously big and delicious and come in two sizes to please any appetite and budget! ”
